Building LS/VTEC

posted in: dave's hub garage, news on March 11, 2008 at 10:07 AM

Started the build on the engine. This is the first engine that I have ever built with my own hands. Had to order a couple more items to make it a complete build. I would like to give a thanks to everyone that has helped me.
First, I would like to thank Jim at Stewart Racing Engines in Indianapolis. Jim did ALL the machining on the block and head. www.stewartengines.com
Mike at BLOX RACING. I’m using BLOX Engine Components. Camshafts, Cam Seals, Valves, Valve Springs, Titanium Retainers . I also have a short shifter and knob from BLOX. www.bloxracing.com
Bob at SCAT for the HONDA - 4340 FORGED H-BEAM CONNECTING RODS. www.scatcrankshafts.com/Honda.htm
SRP Forged Pistons and JE Pro Seal Pistons Rings. www.jepistons.com/cat/srp/sc/honda/honda.shtml
I would also like to give a BIG thanks to Davep for his guidance on the assemble of the engine.

BIG shout out to the HubGarage for letting me post what I’m doing to the CRX Project.
Thanks again for all the help.

I checked out the pics in your garage… Dig the flat black finish!! ever consider powdercoating those rims a deep titanium or flat black to match? would look killer.

anyway, congrats on the project!

I painted them Honda Champion Silver. The Bronze didn’t work on the car. I will soon have my own “hotrod” IMPORT!!!

Goin fast ain’t always with a V8, I’ve seen some pretty amazing et’s from those little 4 bangers. I’ve built 2 or 3 BMW M10’s (4 cyl) and they can be very impressive! You rock ! Keep pushin that envelope, build what you like, drive what you build… enjoy.

Honda pulled it off in this design to make a new comeback regarding the hybrid performance. Honda repair questions might interest the Honda fanatics too. I love the engine much.
